For a success close to being total, the French failing twice at the foot of the podium in slalom and in the team event. Especially since he had just scored his first points a few weeks earlier by finishing 20th in the Val d’Isère slalom. His rise then turned out to be spectacular, going very quickly from a podium in the European Cup to a first Top 10 in the World Cup, near Kitzbühel (8th), before doing it again two days later in Schladming (6th) and to afford the world title in juniors, in Davos.
