Meghan Markle, wife of Britain’s Prince Harry, traveled to Uvalde on Thursday to honor the memory of the victims of Tuesday’s shooting at a school in that Texas town.

The 40-year-old duchess, in jeans, a t-shirt and a cap, gathered in front of a makeshift memorial on which she laid flowers. She then walked around this space, located near the school, where there are white crosses on which are written the names of the victims of the massacre, where 19 children and two adults were killed.

A spokesperson said Meghan Markle traveled to Uvalde personally and as a mother to offer condolences and support to the bereaved community.

Meghan Markle and her husband Harry retired from the British crown two years ago and now live in California with their two children.
