Do you want to change your car for a less polluting vehicle? For the purchase of a new electric or rechargeable hybrid vehicle, the ecological bonus scales have changed since 1er July 2021, they are maintained until 1er July 2022. You can benefit from the conversion bonus to scrap your old vehicle and acquire a new, less polluting one. New criteria have been in effect since 1er July 2021. The decree relating to aid for the acquisition or rental of low-emission vehicles was published in Official newspaper on December 30, 2021.

The ecological bonus makes it possible to receive, without income conditions, aid for the purchase or rental of a new vehicle, electric or rechargeable hybrid, whose CO2 emission rate does not exceed 50 g/km. The ecological bonus and the conversion bonus can be combined.

Ecological bonus on used electric vehicles

A help from €1,000 is granted for the purchase of a used passenger car or electric van. To qualify for assistance, you must be of legal age and domiciled in France. There is no means test.

Amount of the ecological bonus

The scale will be lowered by €1,000 from 1er July 2022 and not from January 1, 2022 as initially provided for by the decree of December 7, 2020.

From 1er July 2022, rechargeable hybrids will be excluded from the aid system which will be reserved for electric vehicles whose CO2 emission rate is less than or equal to 20 g/km.
